My name is Sumit. I came from India in August of '96 from Calcutta, India to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania for college, to Carnegie Mellon University.
So I think my first experience that I remember was walking into a Kmart and being absolutely overwhelmed with the choices, the size of everything, frankly. So we were just buying winter supplies and everything and part of it was I don't think we had any idea how we would get around once we were in college, so this is our opportunity to stock up on everything for the next six months. So I think we bought winter clothing and everything that first trip.
The first day it started snowing I think we were dancing in a parking lot. Like, just being absolutely overjoyed with the snowfall, because I don't think we had actually ever been... or myself ever been in a snowfall before. So we were in a parking lot... when it started snowing running around... with barely any snow sticking to the ground. But really just enjoying it. Just because we'd never actually experienced it before.
