TRANSCRIPT

Money and better life and a better education for the kids and better healthcare brought me to the US. First i came to Canada, where my family met me at the airport. In the US, we came by ourselves. I first came to Canada in 1995, and USA in 2000. The first night in Canada I spent with my dad’s place, and in the US I rented us an apartment. The first difference was that everything was in miles. In Canada, you’re paying large taxes, but not in the US. Everything else, I think, was pretty similar, like the weather. The house in the US was bigger. In Montreal, and Toronto, there is a big South Indian community, so I was very much involved. There is a lot of people and a lot of activity. But in the US, I lost that. The first year I came, I did not know many people. I was thinking to go back, because I love my culture. After I met more people in the US, this is a better place.
