TRANSCRIPT

I came to the US in 2001, to do graduate studies in electrical engineer at UT Dallas. The first day I landed at Dallas airport, my professor’s PhD student picked me up and I could see the highways and buildings. It all looked alien; I had left my family and friends back in India. It’s not an easy decision, and I had put a lot of time and money into it. We stayed over with that PhD student, and the Indian Student Association helped me stay until I got my housing. I was sleeping all day and awake all night due to jet lag. And that’s how my first day went.
