ADDIS ABATE'S FIRST DAY

TRANSCRIPT

My name is Addis. I came from Ethiopia. My first country is Seattle, I live here in Lynnwood. I came in 2012. I came with my husband, here. And now, we have together, two kids. Yeah, I work at 7/11. After one week I came here…after one week, I started school. I don’t speak English and I don’t have work…and, that’s why. I have to go learn English, that’s why. Maybe, it’s my fault…but, sometimes…some people doesn’t understand you...I feel bad like that. Not like in my language…everybody, they don’t understand you. I still have to learn English language…it’s better for everything…first language. I scared…nobody here. My husband and me, we live together…that’s it. I had a lot of family…and that’s why I scared. And the food is different: it’s hard. I don’t have family here. Just me and my husband…my family. I miss my family, I miss my friends. I like it…everybody is good, I like it.
