TRANSCRIPT

I think, always in my mind I had this dream of travel around the world and meeting other cultures. I arrived in Boston I think at midnight and my purpose was to visit my aunt, but she couldn’t go to get me. So, I had to sleep at the airport until five, six in the morning where it was public transportation. So, I think the first thing that I smell was coffee [LAUGHS]. It was very exciting for me because it was my first time out of Mexico. Like, internationally. And it was also my first experience speaking English. So, it was very intimidating but also exciting. I think my first friend is Dalia. And we are still friends until now. We met in the Seattle Central Library in Spanish-speaking book club. I think the biggest lesson is that the limits are in my head [LAUGHS]. And it takes some time to understand and be brave and give the step to move forward. But I have learned that when you are decided, you can do it. And you can succeed.
