Nayomi: My name is Nayomi and I’m from Sri Lanka.
Aruna: I’m Aruna, from Sri Lanka.
And when did you come here?
Nayomi: I came here October 10th, 2010.
Did you come together?
Aruna: Yes, we came together.
Okay, so why don’t you tell me about your story when you came together?
Nayomi: When I was at the airport, I saw tall buildings… everything is big. Big restaurants, big highways, big roads. After I came to my father's friend's home… it's a small place… small apartment and there is a big fridge… refrigerator. The apartment is small, but the refrigerator is very big. I thought, "Why do they need a big refrigerator?" Because we don't have big refrigerators in Sri Lanka. The next day I opened the refrigerator and there are lot of foods. No space to put my finger also. It's full! I don't know that… everyone has big refrigerators. I think it's a funny thing, because they bought a lot of foods to keep them, but in my country we only brought small food… not too much… for a day or two days, but here we… now I also keep a lot of foods for one month or two weeks.
Aruna: But life is not bad. Work and we can… more work, more money. The idea is in America the economy developed because of that. I think many people work… they grow their worth.
Nayomi: But they spend their time very freely, very nicely, and comfortably.
Aruna: They are happy, actually.
Nayomi: They are happy. We are also happy here.
